Additional seats for under-graduate courses

Mahatma Gandhi University has decided to sanction ten additional seats for B.co, BCA, and BA (English) programmes at the under-graduate level in all affiliated colleges of the University, subject to a maximum of 70 seats.

The decision was taken at the Syndicate meeting here presided over by the Univeristy vice-chancellor Rajan Gurukkal.It was also decided to amend the statutes of the university to entrust the recruitments to Public Service Commission.

 

The request of the colleges for a marginal increase of seats was cleared. The meet has given nod to set up satellite centre of the University in the Middle East to impart engineering programmes.

 

The qualification of teachers in the affiliated self-financing colleges will be finalised within a month. The meet decided to amend the varsity ordinance with regard to vacation.

 

Following the phasing out of annual scheme of study in 2012 the annual vacation will cease to exist and would be replaced by two one-month semester breaks in November and May.
