Minority communities to get aid for self employment

Chandigarh: A survey is being conducted by the National Minority Development and Finance Corporation to provide financial assistance for self employment and education to the people of the minority communities in Haryana.

A spokesman for the Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Kalyan Nigam today said the applicants should belong to minority communities and should be Haryana Domicile.

The annual family income of the prospective beneficiary should not exceed Rs 40,000 in rural areas and Rs 55,000 in urban areas.

He said that for self employment, a loan upto Rs 50,000 at the rate of five per cent would be provided while for education, a loan upto Rs 2.50 lakh would be provided at a rate of two per cent.

While sanctioning loan, priority would be given to the applicants between 18 to 35 years of age, widows, divorcee women and other women. Priority would also be given to applicants having higher education or having diploma from polytechnic or ITI or vocational institute, those having experience in the field for which loan has been applied and applicants with good record for repaying loan.

The spokesman said that applications could be obtained from the district offices at a cost of Rs 10 and these should be submitted by July 10.
