IIM-K donates over 3000 textbooks to local colleges

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) has donated over 3750 textbooks to five colleges in Kozhikode district as part of its Corporate Social Responsbility.

The books were distributed by Kozhikode MP M K Raghavan at a  function organized at the Kunnamangalam Campus in Kozhikode yesterday, an IIM-K press release said.

The beneficiaries of the programme included the Government Arts &Science College Meenchanda, Kodancherry Government College, St Joseph Devagiri College, Providence Womens College and the Zamorins Guruvayurappan College.

In his inaugural address, Raghavan said others should also emulate IIM-K's gesture of donating books.

He appreciated the endorsements received by the Institute for its leadership programmes and expressed his desire that a similar programme be offered to the MPs of the State also.

IIMK Director Prof Debashis Chatterjee stressed the importance of creating social reputation by being socially relevant and sensitive to the communities to whom we are accountable to.
