10 CSA University students get Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship

Ten students of Chandrashekhar Azad Agriculture University have been awarded the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, for pursuing research in the field of agriculture.

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship, the students will be awarded a scholarship of Rs 12,000 per month for the duration of 2 years and Rs 12,000 per year as contingency fund for research purposes, the university said.

The students who have been awarded the fellowship are Chotelal, Dheerendra Kumar, Janardan Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Rudranath, Satish Sharan, Shiv Shakti, Vishuddanand and Bhupendra Singh, they said.

The fellowship awardees are students who have completed their post-graduation in Science, Humanities and Social Sciences. They have been selected by merit on an all India level, they added.

There are provisions under the fellowship scheme wherein scholarship amount can be increased after three years, if the particular department finds the student's work satisfactory and forward the name to the university.

After the increase, the student will get an amount Rs 13,000 per month and contingency grant of Rs 25,000 per year, they said.
