Vice-Chancellor of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University here has directed the university officials to speed up the process of verification of degrees and certificates.

The Vice-chancellor has directed that all the degrees and certificates received from other institutes and organisations should be sent to the committee set up to verify the authenticity of degrees and certificates, Public Relations Officer of the University Shashinder Mishra said.

"Until now we were receiving documents for verification from various districts of UP only but now the documents from other states are also coming for verification," Mishra said.

"Maharashtra government has forwarded documents of about fifty teachers who used marksheets and degrees issued by the university for getting jobs. Most of the teachers have been in service for nearly ten years," he said.

"Prima facie it appears that some of the BEd, Shastri, and Acharya degrees as well as Intermediate and high school certificates received are fake," Mishra said.

Earlier, certificates and degrees received from District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Baghpat, Ferozabad, Aligarh, Bareilly, Rae Bareilly and Kanpur were found to be fake, Mishra said.
