Arunachal minister asks Centre to include all state languages

Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Bosiram Siram has urged the Centre for inclusion of all the languages spoken by the people of his state in the Bharat Bhasa Vikash Yojana (BBVY).

Participating in 58th meeting of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) yesterday in New Delhi, Siram said that protection and preservation of endangered languages should be given special protective care, official sources said.
 

He added that dozens of languages are being spoken in Arunachal Pradesh of which only about ten are the listed under UNESCO.
 

“Rest of the languages should be included for the balanced growth, protection and preservation through BBVY”, he added.
 

Siram reaffirmed the commitment of state government on education reforms and suggested that the proposed agenda of CABE such as law to prohibit unfair practices in School Education should be widely consulted to give a definite shape to serve interest of all stakeholders.
 

He further said that RTE should be enhanced upto Higher Secondary Level covering the age from 6-18 years, National Vocational Education Qualification Framework should be devised in the tune of local needs.

 

Further, he supported the other agenda of CABE such as - National Book Promotion Policy and Reformation of Affiliation System of Higher Education and assured to encourage them in the state in earnest and efficient way, sources added.
