Lessons in Radiation

Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, under National Council of Science Museums, ministry of culture, inaugurated a travelling exhibition titled Radiations Around Us’ recently. Srikumar Banerjee, secretary, department of Atomic Energy and chairman, Atomic Energy Commission, government of India inaugurated the exhibition. Dr Milan K Sanyal, director, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics was the guest of honour.

The exhibition has 30, mostly interactive exhibits highlighting the different kinds of radiation, both natural and manmade, their sources, characteristics and their applications. There are panels on Nuclear Waste Management, Nuclear Disaster with special emphasis on Fukushima episode and safeguards against such disaster. This exhibition will be on till July 10 from 10 am-5.30 pm.
