Science Express arrives in Mumbai

The 16 coach, air-conditioned mobile exhibition on train 'Science Express' showcasing cutting edge research in science, arrived at city's Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.
   
The exhibition will be open for public till May 29 when the train would move to Nadiad on Western Railway. There will be no entry fee, the Central Railway officials said.
   
General Manager, Central and Western Railways Kul Bhushan inaugurated the Science Express for public display at CST this morning.
   
The Science Express travelling across India is an Indo-German collaborative project.
   
The sparkling white Science Express features over 300 large format visual images, 150 video clips and multimedia exhibits.
   
This state-of-the-art mobile exhibition attempts to develop scientific temper amongst the masses and encourages students to pursue higher studies and careers in science.
    
It hosts interactive exhibits developed by Max Planck Society, Germany, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India and Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC), Ahmedabad.
    
Besides housing the ‘Joy of Science hands-on lab for conducting science and mathematics experiments and exhibitions on Climate Change, it also has displayed India's heritage in Science and Technology.
