Updated on: Wednesday, May 25, 2011

The Andhra Pradesh government decided to conduct the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) based on matriculation instead at intermediate level.

The decision is taken following a request from the candidates, who pointed out that those who studied intermediate (XII) in a particular group of subjects are finding it difficult to answer questions based on other subjects, an official release said.

The government has also decided to allow candidates pursuing final year of B.Ed or D.Ed to appear for the TET to be held in July, 2011 as a special case, it said.
