Prasad named VC of Maha Animal & Fishery Sciences varsity

Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan, who is also Chancellor of universities in the state, appointed Dr Cadaba Srinivas Prasad, as the new Vice Chancellor of the Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur.
   
Prasad was Assistant Director General (Animal Nutrition and Physiology), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.
   
Dr M V Mayande, Vice Chancellor of the Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola had been holding the additional charge of the post, a Raj Bhawan release said.
   
Prasad has been appointed as Vice Chancellor for a term of five years with effect from the date he assumes charge of office of the Vice Chancellor.
   
He has served as Principal Scientist & Head of the Animal Nutrition at the National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bangalore for nine years until his appointment as Assistant Director General in May 2007.
   
The Governor had appointed a Search Committee headed by Justice Bilal Nazki, former Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, to give him a panel of names for the appointment, the release said.
