IIM Lucknow inducts students in fourth IPMX batch

The academic year of the one year full-time International Programme in Management for Executives (IPMX) fourth batch (2011-2012) commenced on April 18, 2011. A batch of 67 students were welcomed by Dr Devi Singh, Director, IIM Lucknow, Prof Archana Shukla, Dean Noida Campus and Chairperson IPMX and M Damodaran, Former Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

The class has students from wide range of backgrounds like engineering, medicine, media, agriculture, etc.

Damodaran, in his inspirational inaugural address, urged the students to instill in themselves an entrepreneurial spirit which would lead to profits, prosperity and therefore nation building. He said, “Money is not evil by itself but becomes evil when it becomes the master and the man becomes the slave of greed.” He cautioned the students against such a situation.

Prof B B Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, took a session on Indian economy in the context of the current global scenario, while Prof Sushil Kumar of IIM Lucknow took a session on emerging trends in management education. Prof Manoj Anand and Prof Neerja Pande also took sessions with the students on Case building and Placements. Prof Archana Shukla undertook a programme on Transiting to IIML way of Life: Familiarisation with IPMX Rules and Procedures. Students were also given a chance to interact with the alumni for setting the expectation of the programme.
