British Council launches IELTS for students, professionals

The British council today announced the launch of International English Language Testing System (IELTS) preparatory course for students and professionals.
The course, to begin on May 27, aims at improving candidates' examination techniques, helping them to get the best score, a statement from British Council said.
   
"The latest offering from British Council makes it a one stop destination for IELTS candidates, where they can get exam information, register for IELTS, undergo training and take the test on their choice", it said.
   
"India continues to be dominant as the largest market for IELTS. British Council pioneered IELTS in India and has been successfully administering it through 39 test centres across the country. Not surprisingly, demand for preparatory courses
is higher than ever," British Council South India Head (Examinations) Nirupa Fernandez said.
   
British Council currently offers a range of courses -- General English, Business English, Spoken English and writing skills suitable for young learners and adults, ranging from elementary level to advanced, the statement added.
