Teachers need to spend 30 hours in school per week: Maha Govt

Updated on: Saturday, April 09, 2011

Putting an end to confusion among students and teachers about spending 45 hours per week in schools, the Maharashtra Government said teachers have to
spend only 30 hours at their work place.
A resolution issued under the Right to Education Act had said that the students and the teachers would have to spend 45 hours a week at schools.

"The teachers would have to spend 30 hours in school per week, the rest 15 hours can be spent on developmental and educational activities," School Education Minister Rajendra Darda said in the Legislative Council.

The teachers had held protests against the resolution which increased the number of hours to be spent by them in schools.
