TN engineering application to be available from May 16

The Vice Chancellor of Anna University, Mannar Jawahar stated, " Application forms to Tamilnadu Engineering Colleges would be available from May 16".

In Tamil Nadu, 486 Engineering colleges function with about 1 lakh 90 thousand seats to offer every academic year. Among which 65% seats are allotted for government quota.   Anna University, Chennai, carries out the entire admission process to these allotted seats. Plus two results are likely to be released on May 15, as a result the application to engineering courses at various engineering colleges would be available until May end from May 16.

Speaking to press persons, the Vice-Chancellor, Mannar Jawahar said, "Results of plus two exams is likely to be out by second week of May. Hence, a decision was taken to begin admission towards engineering colleges from May 16. Totally, last year, 2,05,000 applications were sold. 15,000 more applications have been printed this year.

Depending on the need more applications would be printed. Applications would be available at Anna University, chennai, other Anna university branches and govt-aided engineering colleges. 

Details on counseling would be released in the second week of May. Anna University has begun all works concerning counseling. Anna University received 42 applications for starting new colleges. Out of which 24 applications were submitted to AICTE to start new engineering colleges, and among the rest, 8 to start new polytechnics and M.E and M.Tech courses, told Mannar Jawahar
