Doctoral fellowship for chemical technology students

Pidilite Industries and the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), a deemed University, have instituted a joint doctoral fellowship for students of the institute.   
'Pidilite-Prof M M Sharma Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship' will be given to four PhD students of the institute.
    
With a corpus of Rs three crore for the endowment of the fellowship, each student will get Rs 30,000 per month against the existing stipend of Rs 23,400 offered by the government.
   
Pidilite Industries signed an Memorandum of Understanding with ICT (deemed university) yesterday at the latter's annual day at Matunga in central Mumbai.
   
Speaking at the function, ICT director and Vice Chancellor Prof G D Yadav said that they will carefully select four bright students.
   
The members of Pidilite family especially its chief M B Parikh and his brothers who were also the alumni of ICT said the objective is to honour Prof Manmohan Sharma, former director of the institute, for his contributions to chemical engineering education, research, chemical industry and leadership at international level.
