J&K introduces bill to check ragging

Jammu and Kashmir government introduced a bill in the legislative assembly to prohibit ragging in educational institutions in the state.
The bill was introduced by Minister of State for Higher Education Manohar Lal Sharma.
      
The Minister said ragging in educational institutions has assumed alarming proportions and the practice needs to be curbed.
 
He said the Supreme Court has taken strong note of the menace and has formulated guidelines to be introduced by the UGC in educational institutions.
