Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today assured to fill up vacant posts of doctors and medical officers in backward and rural areas of the state.
"We are giving a priority to fill up the vacant posts of doctors and medical officers in backward and rural areas. The government has recently recruited 1200 posts across the state," Chavan informed the Legislative Council here.

The Government is also planning to formulate a policy so that the posts do not remain vacant for long time.

A question was asked by Congress MLC Alka Desai about vacant posts in Mahatma Phule hospital in suburban Vikroli and also expressed displeasure about the staff being non-cooperative with the patients.
