Delhi HC directs counselling to physician for PG course

Coming to the rescue of a woman MBBS doctor who was not able to appear for counselling for the PG Course at Mumbai centre due to illness on March 6, the Delhi High Court today directed AIIMS to allow her to participate in the exercise here.
Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw allowed the petition filed by Seema S Yadagiri, who hails from Karnataka, and directed the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) to permit her to appear in the counselling for PG course here as it will continue till March 11.
   
In the petition, she said she had appeared in the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination, 2011, conducted by the AIIMS and had secured a rank of 1451 therein.
   
On March 5, she, along with her mother, had travelled to Mumbai, the centre she had opted for, but was not able to appear in the counselling on March 6 as she fell sick.
   
According to the petitioner, she had approached the concerned authority next day along with the medical report but she was not allowed to appear in the counselling.
   
Then she travelled to Delhi and approached the High Court for a direction to the AIIMS.
