New training policy for teaching faculty, adminsitrative staff

The Department of Collegiate Education in Karnataka has formulated a training policy for its personnel, especially teaching faculty and also for its administrative staff.
The training is designed to equip the teachers to handle their subject with better pedagogy as well as relate to students through enhanced communication skills, according to an official press release.
  
This year, a programme to train around 2250 Assistant Professors who were recruited recently, has been envisaged, it said.
  
Training of the first batch of 40 Assistant Professors started in Dayanand Sagar Institutions here yesterday and the programme was inaugurated by Tushar Girinath, Commissioner, Department of Collegiate Education.
    
He said the Department has a mission to improve quality of education in Government colleges, and hence, he emphasized the need for such training.
    
Experts from different fields have been earmarked as resource persons for the training.  The programme would be organised in six regional headquarters in 60 batches in the year 2011-2012.
    
Special training for principals and higher administrators is also planned to be conducted in training institutes and the ministerial staff would be trained in the district training institutes, the release said.
