Entrance test for MBBS at JIPMER held

Puducherry: Students from different parts of the country and Puducherry appeared for the entrance examination conducted by JIPMER for the first year MBBS course at various centres.

Puducherry is one of six centres other than Chennai, Kolkata, Thiruvananathapuram, Hyderabad and Delhi, where the entrance test for the 2009-2010 academic year was held.

The MBBS class has 100 seats. But the entrance test was restricted to 82 seats as the other 18 will be filled through nomination by government of India.  Students hailing from Puducherry, as natives of the union Territory have certain seats out of the 82 seats.

The results of the entrance test are likely to be released in a  few days, an official source in JIPMER said.
