Conquering civil services amidst visual impairment

For Sujitha (24), even lack of eyesight could not bind her from getting through the nations prestigious UPSC main exams to join the Indian Foreign Service.

On Thursday, she came to know that she was just two months away from realising her dream of joining the Indian Foreign Service.

Her dream will become a reality, if she scores well in the personality test to be conducted at the UPSC in New Delhi later this month.
 
Ms. Sujitha, a resident of Tindivanam when asked, told that she wants to serve the persons with disability. She attended coaching classes for the Mains conducted by the Manithaneyam IAS/IPS Free Coaching Centre in Chennai.

Totally, 68 candidates who attended the free classes conducted by the centre cleared the Main examination.

Picking Sociology and Public Administration for the mains and Sociology for the prelims, she says that problems and deformity drives towards excellence.

She stressed the need for recruiting more persons with disability in the Civil Services as they would be better placed to understand the problems and make appropriate policy decisions for them.

For the prelims, she attended classes conducted by Excell Career India.

Thanking Manithaneyam IAS/IPS Free Coaching Centre and Excell Career India form where she received training to excel through UPSC, Ms.Sujitha said, “My father was able to afford all modern gadgets for my studies. But the rural people who cannot have such facilities have to receive support from the government �.

Lauding the efforts of Manithaneyam IAS/IPS Free Coaching Centre, she informed that it is exeedingly helpful for rural students.
