Quality education only means to empowerment: Sibal

In a show of strength at a time when the assembly polls were round the corner, the Latin Catholic community in Kerala today organised a mega meet here which was inaugurated by Union HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal.
 
Speaking at the meet, Sibal said only through education empowerment was possible. Mere education was not enough as we are in a globalised scenario. There is need to give quality eduation and government was aiming for that, he said.
 
Within the next 10 years, 50,000 colleges and 1000 universities would be set up in the country, he said. 
 
Christened 'Sangamam', over one lakh latin catholics from all over the state are participating in the meet.
