Updated on: Wednesday, February 23, 2011

On February 19, Serendipity, the annual fest of Globsyn Business School (GBS) also saw their seventh annual convocation. On this occasion, R Gopalakrishnan, executive ddirector of Tata Sons inspired the graduating batch with his convocation address. 219 candidates successfully completed their programmes and were awarded the certificates.

Declared open by Pratip Kar, the director of GBS, it was followed by a welcome address by Bikram Dasgupta, chairman and CEO of Globsyn Group.

R Gopalakrishnan was ushered in with a standing ovation from the enthusiastic students of GBS. He enthralled the audience with anecdotes and shared inspirational ideas. Every successful manager has three worlds to fit in. The first world consists of his aspirations, dreams and goals. The second stage is the world of transactions that deals with the real life situations, problems and dilemmas of work. And the third state is the world of relationships. Success comes to those who manage to coordinate and skilfully handle all these three worlds. It pays to be helpful, well-connected and nice were the lessons he imparted.

Adding further, “Learn from your seniors. Do not just observe what they do but try to understand how they do it. Success lies not in emulation but in assimilation and perseverance.” The convocation closed with the National Anthem.

Post lunch it was fun time. The management games started with the 360 degree street play.  Then came some more in the form of Block and Tackle, and the Treasure Hunt (around EZCC).

The alumni and audience quiz was held at around 5 pm It was followed by the fun filled fashion show.  Finally it was time for the grand cultural evening.
