Keep parents out of corruption, Kalam tells students

To make a corruption free society, former President A P J Abdul Kalam today asked students to ensure that their parents desist from corruption.
"Corruption can be rooted out of society if every youth takes the responsibility of forcing their parents to desist from corruption at home," Kalam said.

"This was the beginning which can ultimately lead to a corruption-free society at large," he said, addressing the 43rd annual conference of All Bodo Students' Union at Bonargaon near here.

Stressing that the students should fix a goal for development of the nation, Kalam said, "I will have a goal and to achieve that goal, I shall be a good member in the family, in society, in the nation and the world. I will always find ways to give to the society for a clean environment for the glory of my nation."

Answering questions of the youths, he said every guardian should provide at least 20 books to his/her children for their home library which should be increased to at least 200 by the children when they grow up, and finally the grandchildren should enhance this to 2000 books as a means of investment in the process of acquiring knowledge.
