January 26 turned memorable for Pathfinder and its meritorious students. The high-ranking students of West Bengal Medical and Engineering Entrance Exams along with others were felicitated at an awards ceremony.
Present on the occasion were Arnab Roy, municipal commisioner, Calcutta Municipal Corporation and Dr Sanjib Ghosh, former principal of Presidency College. Soumendu Majee who topped WBJEE (Engg.) and 688 in IIT JEE and Pushpam Priyam Das who topped in WBJEE (Med) were given away the top honours. There were a number of other meritorious students as well who had done coaching classes from Pathfinder to whom the prizes and certificates were given away. The awardees were not merely students of medical and engineering exams but also of HS, ISC, CBSE, ICSE (Class XII), Madhyamik and CBSE (Class X) of the year 2010.
The principal of Pathfinder Utpal Kumar Shome was a proud man. Here is what he said, “We are regarded as no. 1 in eastern India. We provide guidance not just to students of engineering and medical but also to students from Arts, Commerce, HS, and Madhyamik background. We give prizes to all the toppers from our institute and our aim is to become no.1 in the country.”
