Three new community colleges opened

Apart from the existing four community colleges, three more new community colleges were opened in the city by the Chennai Corporation in its efforts to provide skill training to underprivileged students.

Speaking at the inaugural function at one of the colleges in Kamarajar Nagar, Tondiarpet, Mayor M. Subramanian said two new courses had been introduced in each of these three colleges.

Among the newly inaugurated the colleges, the one in Tondiarpet would offer courses in computer security services and computer accountant training, the one on Vathiyar Kandapillai Street, Choolai, would offer courses in pharma retail and hardware maintenance training. Courses in computer hardware and networking and implementing and maintaining computer network would be offered at the college at Gangapuram, T.Nagar.

Nearly 720 students would be trained in the three colleges.
