RTE to cover secondary schools too - Sibal

The Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Kapil Sibal expressed hopes that secondary schools also will come under Right to Education in the years to come.

Speaking at a function organized by the ministry and UNICEF Sibal said, "In the coming five years similar rights will cover secondary education".

"More than 60 percent of children admitted in primary schools never reach class 12th, he said.

"After children complete their secondary education, they can decide if they want to go to university, or do some vocational training," added the minister.
