Haryana teachers to get award only after screening test

Teachers in Harayana will not be able to get awards for accomplishment in teaching only through reference or pull, instead they need to pass a specialized screening test.

A spokesman of the state education department said that the proposed screening test would comprise a written examination, classroom teaching evaluation and children's learning outcome evaluation.

He also said, the directorate of secondary education would conduct the written exam on general knowledge and the teaching subject for 200 marks with a minimum cut-off of 75 per cent marks in both subjects.

An expert committee from directorate of education would carry out classroom teaching evaluation and the directorate officials directly or through a third party would do childrenâ€™s learning outcome evaluation.

"The children's learning outcome evaluation would be done only for those teachers who qualify written exam and classroom teaching evaluation. It was expected that all the children in the classes taught by the applicant teacher should score more than 60 per cent marks," he added.

He said that all teaching personnel could apply online on the departmental website for appearing in the screening test.
