Munnar college starts operations in UAE

India's hospitality training institute Munnar Catering College has announced the expansion of its full-fledged operations to the Gulf region with the opening of the Emirates MCC University Campus in UAE's Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone.
Affiliated to the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), the Emirates MCC University FZE is envisaged as a 'Centre of Excellence' in hospitality education and training. The university is promoted by Royal Group of Companies, a multifaceted conglomerate.
 
The campus features state-of-the-art facilities including an advanced e-library and provision for individual laptops to all the students.
 
It will have separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, in addition to transport service to various parts of the UAE for the convenience of the students.
 
The Ras Al Khaimah campus, the largest of its kind in the region, offers the full spectrum of courses including Diploma, Associate Degree, Degree, Post-Graduate Degree and MBA in hospitality management and tourism.
 
In the presence of Prof VN Rajasekharan Pillai, Hon. Vice Chancellor, IGNOU, Tissan Joseph Thachankary, Chairman of Emirates MCC University and founder of Royal Group of Companies announced the opening of the Ras Al Khaimah Campus at a press conference held in Dubai.
 
"Emirates MCC University, affiliated to IGNOU, is setting a new benchmark in hospitality training with the opening of the UAE campus in Ras Al Khaimah. Over the past 25 years, MCC has proven its competencies in offering world-class education and training programmes in hospitality, and the UAE operations uphold the same international standards and best practices as in India," Prof. Rajasekharan Pillai said.
 
The campus will be a great value addition for the UAE's vocational training sector, especially for hospitality, regarded as a key pillar of the country's economy, he said.
 
The courses offered include one-year Diplomas in Tourism, Hotel Management & Tourism; two-year Associate Degree in Hotel Management & Tourism; three-year Degree in Hotel Management (BHM); two-year MBA in International Hospitality Management; and one-and-a-half-year Executive MBA in International Hospitality Management.
 
The University offers two academic sessions -January/February and July/August.
 
The first batch of students will commence their classes on February 14.
