Franco-Japanese MBA-level double degree

New Delhi: The programmes will enable the students to gain bi-cultural insight into management issues, representing an exceptionally important opportunity in the current climate of globalisation.

Whilst the agreement marks the eighth MBA double degree set up by ESSEC Business School with one of the world's top universities, this is the very first time that a Japanese Business School has established such a partnership with a school from another country at MBA level.

Keio Business School is a part of Keio University, the longest-standing and one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in Japan, and one which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

For many years ESSEC has been building long-term relations with a series of partners, of which its Japanese counterpart is a significant example. An ESSEC office was established in Japan in 1984, a host of Faculty and student exchanges set up, and more than 1100 internships carried out by French students in Japan.

In the current context of Keio University's 150th anniversary and the furthering of Franco-Japanese relations, the ESSEC-Keio double degree agreement stands out as a major consequence of the mutual trust built up over the last 22 years, as well as the meeting of two institutions with the high cultural and academic standards.

The terms of the double degree programme follow the general rule of such an agreement: the students of each institution must satisfy certain conditions in order to obtain the diploma vis-à-vis their home institution and successfully complete the curriculum at the host institution, as well as meeting the pedagogical requirements of their two alma mater. The programme as a whole gives broad insight into managerial issues via an approach that is especially adapted to the globalization of the economic world and its development in Asia.
