THE NETHERLANDS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMMES (NFP)

The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) are designed to promote capacity building within organisations in 60 developing countries (including India) by providing training and education to their mid-career staff members. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs funds the NFP under the budget for development cooperation. NFP fellowship is intended to supplement the salary that the fellowship holder should continue to receive (at least partially) during the study period. PhD degrees can be pursued at 21 Dutch universities and institutes for international education. The allowance is considered to be a contribution towards the cost of living for one person, whether in the Netherlands or in another country. The maximum NFP budget available for a PhD study is 85,000 euros. The fellowship can cover the costs of tuition fees, visas, travel, insurance and thesis research. The Master's Fellowship is for those who wish to receive a postgraduate education and earn one of the following Dutch degrees-Master of Arts/Science or a professional Master's degree (between 9 and 24 months). Requirements:
Mid-career professionals with at least three years' work experience who are nationals of and working and living in an NFP country (includes India). Apply for a PhD fellowship only after your research proposal has been agreed with the Dutch institution. The PhD must always be pursued according to a 'sandwich' or 'picnic' model, which means that a large portion of the PhD research will take place in your home country. A candidate employed by one of the multinationals, UN organisations, World Bank, IMF, a bilateral or multilateral donor organisation, or a large national commercial organisation is not eligible. To be eligible for an NFP fellowship, you need to be admitted to the Master's degree programme for which you would like an NFP fellowship. THE THOMSON REUTERS FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP

The Thomson Reuters Foundation Fellowship Programme offers fully funded fellowships to well established midcareer journalists from throughout the world. Around eight Thomson Reuters Fellows study each year on fully-funded fellowships varying from three months to nine months drawn from dozens of countries around the world from both print and broadcast media. Fellowships may be for three, six or nine months covering one or two terms or a full academic year respectively. Awards may include travel expenses (including air travel economy class) and a modest living allowance (subject to variation). Spouses and partners (including with dependents) are welcome but the programme will not pay the travel or living costs of visiting spouses or dependents.

Requirements:
Applicants must have a minimum of five years' experience in any branch of journalism and demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English to be able to write a research paper in English of publishable quality.
