Madurai Kamaraj varsity to get rs 1.70 crore e-learning equipment

The Madurai Kamaraj university will get e-learning equipment for Rs.1.70 crore for its Educational Multi-media Research Centre (EMMRC). 
According to an official press release here today, the University Grants Commission had sanctioned the amount for equipping the centre with state-of-the-art production equipment.
 
"The University will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Broadcasting Enginerring consultants India ltd, a government of India enterprise,for purchase of High end equipment for virtual studio,high definition tapeless camrecorder,E-content development hardware and software," it said.
 
The equipment would facilitate production of High-end educational programmes through internet across the world.
 
The University was also setting up an advanced multi-media lab at a cost of Rs 25 lakh under the UGC potential for excellence fund.A modern communication centre is coming up at the university at a cost of Rs.50 lakh,the release said.
