CEIS programme shows the way

With jobs hard to come by in the software sector this season, experts and academics have been advising the engineering graduates to hone their skills and learn new programmes that lead to employment in emerging areas.

The IBM Career Education in IBM Software (CEIS) programme is an option that engineering and MCA graduates can explore given the targeted courses it offers, helping them to acquire skills, education and experience they need to build successful careers in the IT industry.

CEIS brings together existing IBM Software Education courses into a simple and coherent programme targeted for specific career paths.

“The curriculum design incorporates a ‘blended learning’ approach by integrating classroom, hands-on lab exercises and team projects to provide students both the theoretical and practical training needed to build strong database administration, e-business administration, application development and testing skills,” says Y.V.Rao, vice-president-Operations of Reliance Global Services, the sole authorised training centre for the course in south India.

The CEIS courses on offer now include Database Administration, e-business System Administration, Software Testing, Enterprise Collaboration Administration (lotus) and Storage Management Using TSM (Tivoli). Each course is followed by a project. For details, log on to
