IGNOU study centre at Tihar gets quality certification

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has given a certificate of quality to the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) study centre at Tihar Jail, an official said.

IGNOU and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) have their study centres inside the premises of Tihar jail, where 2,640 and 1,900 inmates are enrolled respectively.

The courses offered are free and study materials like notebooks, pens etc. are provided to the inmates.
