Pondy students topped by 99.72 pass percentage

The students of  Puducherry  scored with 99.72 pass percentage topped the list of states and Union Territories in the CBSE class ten results in the Chennai region.

CBSE Chennai region's joint secretary Mr N.Nagaraju, said that 357 students registered from eight schools in Puducherry, 352 candidates (186 boys and 166 girls) appeared for the examination of which 351 passed (185 boys and 166 girls).

Last year, out of 329 students registered from seven schools 327 appeared (171 boys and 156 girls) and 326 passed the examination. Puducherry had secured an overall pass percentage of 99.69 per cent this year as compared to 99.72 per cent last.

Dr E. Prabhakar, assistant commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, said that there were two Kendriya schools in Puducherry that recorded centum pass percentage.

'A total of 109 students appeared from the two schools in the Union Territory all students passed making their schools proud,' he said.
