Reservation for STs in employment insisted

The Federation of Puducherry State Scheduled Tribes has urged the government to extend the benefit of reservation of one percent for Scheduled Tribes in employment.
President of the Federation K Ramkumar told reporters here today that the government has only earmarked the quota for STs in education though such a quota should also be available in employment.
 
He also alleged that there were a good number of villages with ST population being predominant which are bereft of basic amenities.This should also be taken care of by the government, he said.
