Haryana govt asks schools to return fees charged from students

Making education totally free for students in classes I to VIII, the Haryana Government has directed all government schools to return the fees charged from students of these classes for 2010-11 with immediate effect.
  
Earlier, students in these classes had to make payments for health, science, consolidated fund, examination, child welfare, red cross, audio-visual, music, home-science, building fund, sports, parent teacher association fund and admission fee, an official spokesman said here today.
  
No such fees would be charged in future, the spokesman said.
