CM inaugurates Toxicology and Development research centre

A state-of-the-art Centre for Toxicology and Developmental Research was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi here today.
   
The centre was instigated on the silver jubilee of Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute here.
   
Karunanidhi also unveiled a portrait of the varsity's founder late N P V Ramasamy Udayar.
   
Speaking at the function, he expressed happiness over the success of the 'Kalaignar Insurance Scheme' for life saving treatment which, he said, has benefited thousands of children.
   
He expressed hope that doctors would discharge their duties to the best of their abilities especially when dealing with with beneficiaries of various schemes.
   
Karunanidhi recalled his experience when he was admitted to SRU for a successful spine surgery in Feb 2009 and lauded the efforts of doctors and other paramedical staff for making the institution a world class facility.
He also honoured Apollo Hospital Chairman Pratap Reddy, famous neuro-surgeon A. Jaganathan among others, who had rendered various contributions in their fields.
