Four aeronautical students of a private engineering college have theoretically proved that "thrust vectoring" can help steer a missile or rocket better as well as reduce the overall weight of vehicle during launch.

Recognising the work entitled Studies on Fluidic Injection Thrust Vectoring Technique in an Aerospace Nozzle, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) has selected the paper for presentation at the international conference to held in US in January, 2011.

K. Hanumanthrao, S.Ragothaman, B. Arunkumar and M. Giri all of Kumaraguru college of Technology has done the paper as a part of their final year BE project under the guidance of Prof. V.R. Sanal Kumar, Head of the Department, Aeronautical Engineering.
