The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is set to restart the railway recruitment exams that were called off in June following a question paper leak. According to sources, the RRB will conduct the examination from September 26.

“We conducted two examinations in June, the results of which were not announced due to controversies surrounding the question paper leak. We will start the re-examination on September 26,†said a senior official of RRB.
“The RRB will then conduct one exam each in the following months. The first set of exams will focus on filling 2,800 vacancies in the Group C category,†the official added.

At present, around 11,000 posts are vacant in the Southern Railway (SR), most of which are in the Group C and Group D categories.

According to officials of the Southern Railway, the situation crippled the functioning of the SR as a large number of the vacancies are in the operations, commercial, mechanical and electrical departments.
