IGNOU-ICT to offer training to school teachers

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in association with the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu is to offer a training programme in Information Technology for school teachers from September 5 with the objective of improving their competency.
  
An MoU for the 42-hour programme had been signed by the IGNOU and ICTACT and 30 teachers would be trained in the first batch at the computer laboratory of the IGNOU's regional centre here, a release said today.
  
The training would be given during week ends. "Recent developments in the IT field have given scope for educational institutions to make use of technology components in class room and combine them with traditional mode of teaching.The
concept of Smart class room warrants use of IT in teaching-learning process,"  it said.
