Updated on: Thursday, September 02, 2010

Intuition should be encouraged among students as it would help them come out with innovative ideas, said IIT Madras director Prof. M S Ananth

Speaking at inaugural session of Aaruush'10, a four-day national level techno-management festival, organised by SRM University, at Kattankulathur, Prof. Ananth said the concept had not taken root among the younger generation, especially students. "A combination of logic and intuition would help students not only succeed in their careers but also in life," he said.

Commenting on the role of innovations, he said that unlike in other countries India was far behind in terms of the number of foreign students in universities and other educational institutions. The congregation of different minds across the world would help get innovative ideas.

Nearly 7,500 students across the country were expected participate in the festival comprising of events like AutoBotz and Swarmrobotics. Apart from this an exclusive defence exhibition will also be organised and Arjun Battle Tank would be on display.
