The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon be instituting two awards for schools all over India so as to encourage the implementation of the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) as well as the Mentoring and Monitoring System.

CBSE has instituted the awards for all 11,044 schools that are affiliated to it across the country. The factors that will be taken into consideration for awarding the schools would include awareness of the evaluation system, its implementation, record keeping, teaching aids used, advocacy programme for parents and training for teachers, format of report card and lesson planning.

Chairman of CBSE Vineet Joshi informed that every CCE award would include a certificate as well as a cash prize worth Rs.21,000. The school principals who will be awarded the Mentor prize will be given a certificate as well as a cash prize worth Rs.10,000.

"The winners for both awards will be decided on the basis of seven criteria for CCE schools and four for the Mentor award that we will be setting up soon," said Joshi.
