University of Cincinnati to invest 1mn USD for Indian students

University of Cincinnati, one of the top public research universities in the US, is planning to invest USD one million in undergraduate scholarships for Indian students in 2011 academic year.

The University would provide two full scholarships to undergraduate Indian students joining it in fall 2011. It would partner with an NGO to help identify these two students.
   
"This opportunity is applicable to two brilliant students who have overcome substantial disadvantages during their educational pursuits," the university said in a statement.
   
"The university-wide UC Global Scholarship programme also provides scholarships ranging from USD 1,000-USD 12,000 per year to undergraduate students for international students. Students are advised that their completed applications should reach the university by December one for maximum scholarship consideration," it was stated.
   
The university said it has nearly 2,000 international students out of which 650 are Indians.
