A centre for Information Technology will soon be set up here in line with the Karnataka government's plan to take IT knowledge to Tier-II and Tier-III cities, Minister for IT Katta Subramanya Naidu said today.

"The centre, coming up in collaboration with a British firm, is being developed on a five acre plot and will become operational by this year end", he told reporters here.

Apart from this, a rural BPO centre would also be set up in this city to provide education, training and expertise to youth and young graduates, Naidu said.
