IT@School
Under its IT@School project for computer literacy among schoolchildren, Kerala will develop one model school — with five classrooms equipped with modern tools — in all its 140 assembly constituencies. “Tools would include multimedia projectors and laptops,” said IT@School Executive Director K Anvar Sadath.

Major overhaul on the cards
The Prime Minister has called for a major overhaul of the legal education system to bring it in tune with the needs of the current socio-economic scenario. After wide consultations among various groups and universities, a report of the major recommendations has been prepared and action includes:
* Establishing four national level institutions at the regional level as Centres of Excellence focused on research and up-gradation of faculty skills — these may be called Institutes of Advanced Legal Studies and Research.
* Establishing a National Law University in every state as a school of excellence.
* Evaluating each of the 913 existing law schools by an Empowered Committee.
* Encouraging the creation of a Public Private Participation model for law schools with a specialised focus.
* Encouraging autonomous colleges to meet demanding accreditation standards.
