Bengal institutes to participate in IIT-Chennai fest

The Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, is all set to celebrate Shaastra, the annual four-day technical festival from September 29 to October 3.

Several state institutes, including IIM-C, IIT-Kgp and Besu, will participate in the fest which will include a variety of competitions, lectures and workshops. It is slated to attract over 30,000 people who will battle for prizes that command values in lakhs of rupees.

“Shaastra has the honour of being the first technical festival to be given the ISO 9001:2000 rating and by continuing the excellent organization, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 rating last year,” said Subir Paul, a second year civil engineering student of IIT-C and external publicity member for the event.
