Malta's offerings

Malta — a potential avenue for higher education for Indian students. To understand and explore this possibility was at the core of a recent visit by a delegation of high school principals from New Delhi to Malta, in southern Europe, last month. Organised jointly by the University of Malta and the High Commission of Malta in India, the visit was to apprise principals about the range of opportunities Malta can offer an Indian student. Apart from quality education at relatively low costs, Malta promises a safe environment to students, the principals were told. The delegation's visit is expected to be the beginning of a long term association between the University of Malta and Indian institutions.

During the visit, the delegates interacted with the faculty, students and senior officials of the university, as well as participated in an academic workshop. They also visited local private schools and interacted with officials of the Ministry of Education and Malta Enterprise.

The delegation's visit was aimed at building relationships and exploring avenues of interaction. University of Malta has been promoting itself through the High Commission in India over the past three years which has often culminated in academic exchanges, organisation of seminars, sharing of knowledge and expertise with Indian Higher Education institutions.
