Placements: IIPM sets new benchmark

Setting new benchmark in B-School placements, the IIPM has placed more than 10,000 students through its campus placements in 1500 companies in the last five years. More than 250 IIPM students got internationally placed in the last three years on campus.

The last two years have seen IIPM Delhi getting the highest numbers in global placements in India with 165 students in the year 2008 and 55 students in the year 2009. The current year for the class of 2010 has already witnessed 2,480 on campus recruitments and the remaining 140 students are also likely to get placed soon. Average all India packages this year has been Rs. 4.63 lakh so far. Amiya Ranjan got the highest domestic package of Rs.20 lakh per annum .The largest numbers of jobs in campus this year have been for Marketing and Sales followed by Finance and then HR.

With the recession bottoming out, the companies are insistently fetching for fresh blood to put their businesses back on the fast track. Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) corporations which have been the dominant recruiters at all campuses for the last four years making 50 per cent of offers, had suddenly vanished from campuses in 2009, but are now back this year with about 20 per cent offerings.

Leading BFSI companies like Standard Chartered, HDFC Bank, HSBC, Fidelity, Barclay, India Bulls, India Info line, and some Financial Consulting companies like KPMG (Delhi), Goldman Sachs, E&Y have offered Financial /Business Research profiles to IIPM Students. ICICI has recruited 320 students this year and visited all IIPM campuses and Yes bank, which is this year's largest recruiter at IIM campuses also made sure it visited IIPM Delhi.
