TN abolishes tuition fees for PG courses

Chennai : The Tamil Nadu goverment today announced abolition of tuition fees for all students pursuing postgradaute courses in Government Arts and Science colleges from the coming academic year.

Presenting the Budget for the year 2010-11, Finance Minister K Anbazhagan said it was the DMK Government which had abolished tuition fee for all students studying undergraduate courses in Government Arts and Science Colleges from 2007-2008 onwards.

''From the ensuing academic year, tuition fee for all students, pursuing postgraduate courses like MA, MSc in Government Arts and Science Colleges will be abolished'', he said, adding, such measures have enabled students to pursue higher education without incurring any cost.
